Yorkshire Day: Grand Re-Opening of the Yorkshire Museum
Celebrate the reopening of the Yorkshire Museum following its nine-month refurbishment.
With music from 11.30am in the Museum Gardens (weather permitting) and six Roman soldiers will be patrolling the grounds to entertain visitors.
The museum doors open at noon, following a short ceremony, and will reveal our three major new galleries, Roman York, Medieval York and Extinct, as well as the History of York audio visual spectacular and the upstairs Learning Level.
After your visit, enjoy sandwiches, coffee and snacks from the new-look museum shop or an ice cream in the Gardens!

Gardens
Monday – Sunday, 7.30am to 5.30pm
(from late March until late October the gardens open later into the evening)
The Gardens are closed on the mornings of Royal Salute ceremonies.

Every Saturday, 11.30am – 2.30pm
