York Racecourse’s opening event of the horseracing season starts with the Dante Meeting which is referred to as the May Festival Weekend at many other racecourses.
The Dante Meeting is an exciting event as it not only kicks of a season of eight spectacular racing events held at York Racecourse but is also features trial Derby races.
Live music from the Gershwin Gang will be performed during the day.
The Dante Stakes
The Dante Stakes will be held on 13th May 2010 and with a history of nine horses having won both the Dante Stakes and the Derby there will be many keeping a watchful eye on the winner!
The Musidora Stakes
The Musidora Stakes is another significant event during the Dante Meeting weekend and takes place on 12th May 2010. This race is considered as a trial for the Epsom Oaks with six fillies having won both events.
Opening Times and Admission Prices
Gates Open at 11.15am on all three days with the first races at 1.40pm and final races at 4.55pm.
One of the best things about horseracing is that it really is open to all! With prices ranging from as little as £3 all the way up to a £77 three day ticket you can choose from a selection of racing day experiences.
