The World Tour of York
The World Tour of York is an entertaining, two-hour guided walk that combines stories of York’s present as well as its past, including issues of York’s development and the lifestyles of its people throughout the ages as it transformed from the bleak swampland conquered by the Romans in AD 71 into the vibrant city that it is today.
The guided tour starts from St Helen’s Square, opposite Betty’s world famous Tea Shop – just look for someone wearing a gold and black uniform.
The great thing about this tour is that it can be tailor made to suit any group – examples of recent tours include shopping, history and culture tours for partners of people attending conferences, walking tours and coach commentary.
Guides are enthusiastic and knowledgeable with a confident delivery and friendly manner.
The World Tour of York sets off at 11.00am and 2.00pm every Saturday and costs £5.50 – under-16s FREE.

The World Tour of York at Exploring York
Lasting for one-and-a-half to two hours, the tour is based on the story of York:
You will be entertained with fascinating stories and images that cover York’s unique heritage and its people;
The city of York’s medieval walls, culture, myths and legends;
A discussion about royalty and religion;
The tale of two rivers, ancient houses, international food and drink;
Of shopping and The Shambles.
And most important of all – Chocolate.
Guides can also caters for hen parties, schools, colleges and universities, tours for societies and groups or for people entertaining weekend guests.
If customers want to extend the tour to a more leisurely day, the amenable guides are happy to oblige. Alternatively, if the tour needs to be shortened then the essentials can be covered in an hour. 
Treasure hunts can also be arranged with well thought out activities and fun themes. Ideas for themed walks include Chocolate and Candy, Food – Romans, Vikings, Medieval, Victorian and today, Georgian York, the English Civil war, Railways or Guy Fawkes.
