The Bram Stoker International Film Festival
16th October – 19th October 2009 at the Whitby Pavilion
The Bram Stoker International Film Festival (BSIFF) shows a great number of independent documentaries, shorts and features from all over the world that you WON’T see at the local multiscreen cinema!
Many of the films shown will be World Premieres at the Festival, and you may not have the opportunity to see them anywhere else in the country.
The programme covers around 30 presentations.

Bram Stoker - Dracula
It was whilst he was staying in the small North East coast fishing town of Whitby that Bram Stoker found the inspiration to begin creating the most famous horror figure in literature and film.
The Bram Stoker International Film Festival was established to provide opportunities and exposure for filmmakers, screenwriters, Sand others working within the horror, science fiction and suspense genres.
Visitors and fans can meet their favourite starsand buy genre related merchandise at the Bram Stoker expo, which is held in conjunction with the film screenings at the BSIFF.
The Bram Stoker International Film Festival is open to everyone over 18 years old.
BRAM STOKER INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2009
Opening Night Friday 16th October will be a great evening of burlesque and cabaret as well as The Mocky Horror Show.
Guest speakers will also be presented throughout the show, followed by a late night screening.
666Gorefest and Sin City Girls will be greeting you, so why not come as your favourite genre character?
The Mocky Horror Tribute Show cabaret show featuring the songs from the camp classic Rocky Horror Picture Show, performed by the five piece group Transylvania.
Although the BSIFF has no dress code as such, the organisers encourage all visitors to dress to impress, whether you arrive in a latex catsuit or in Classical Victorian clothes, as a post-punk Vampire or simply in formal evening wear… no one will be turned away, but costumes are a big part of the fun!

Festival Guests
Ingrid Pitt is to be a guest speaker at the Bram Stoker International film Festival, famous as Hammer Films’ Queen of Horror.
She has appeared in the films Countess Dracula, The House That Dripped Blood, The Wicker Man, and more as well as being seen on television in shows such as Ironside and Doctor Who.
GP Taylor, the New York Times best-selling author of Shadowmancer, Wormwood and Tersias.
Independent film-maker Devi Snively, whose screenplays have placed at the Austin Film Festival, Slamdance and others.
Author, Journalist and broadcaster Gavin Baddeley, who has worked alongside the BBC, Channel4 and MTV. He has created The Devil’s Historybooks and publishes on the subject of vampires and the culture of vampirism.
Rod Morris has over 25 years of experience in the film and television industry as a director, producer and editor, having worked on Australia’s ARIA Awards, Deal Or No Deal and Big Brother. He also worked on Boy From Oz featuring Hugh Jackman.
