As you may know October is Breast Cancer Aware month. This year breast cancer campaign is painting York pink! There are lots of events going on – all aiming to raise lots of funds for breast cancer research.
It is a cause close to our heart, Sarah (the founder of Elizabeth Wells) lost her close Aunt to breast cancer two years ago. The upsetting thing is that two years prior to going to the doctors and being diagnosed, her Aunt did notice some changes in her breasts but did not speak up; perhaps if she was more breast cancer aware she may still be here today and would have lived to see Sarah open her first lingerie boutique in York.
Here’s the plan to raise as much money as we can for Breast Cancer Aware:
Pink Raffle – We have some amazing prizes from lingerie, photo shoots to a health and spa package from Bannatynes (see below for a full list) . All profits from the raffle will be donated to the charity. The tickets cost £5 for a book, £1 each. You can buy them in-store or via email until October 29th; when the winners will be announced on the pink evening.
Pink up Your Bra – Grab an old bra and pink it up! A chance to get creative and create a masterpiece! You could be a budding designer or just have lots of glitter, glue & feathers that need using up… Entrants are asked to donate a minimum of £5 to Breast Cancer Aware. The winner will receive a £50 voucher from Elizabeth Wells, so get designing – we can’t wait to see your creations!! The closing date for entries is the 29th October.
Pink Evening – Join us 29th October 4pm-7pm for Pink refreshments, free fittings, an amazing raffle and 10% of all profits made during the evening will be donated to Breast Cancer Aware. Goody bags are also being put together (limited number available!)
Raise Cash – Buy Pink! – Elizabeth Wells has dedicated two lingerie sets to raise money for breast cancer aware. Electric shock will see 10% of profits donated, £5 for every full pink glamour set will also be donated to the cause. Electric shock is a limited collection, we only have one of each size! Even if you just buy a suspender belt or some knickers your hot pink purchases will see you donate money to a really worthy cause. We also hope it will remind you to be aware of breast cancer.
