Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary
Scarborough is a wonderful seaside town in the North Yorkshire area England, with many interesting and eye-catching places to visit for anyone coming to the town, but one place captures the imagination more than most – SEA LIFE Scarborough.
Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary is a magical place where visitors can immerse themselves in the world of the sea, a place where we don’t just get to see where these beautiful creatures live, but learn about how they live and amazing facts about them.
In the Sea Life Centre you will see the sea come alive with activity as sharks, fish, seahorses, sting rays and much more come swimming up to you. The ability to watch these majestic creatures of the deep can be an awe inspiring experience that makes you stop in your tracks. For adults and children alike, it is a wonderful experience to witness these great creatures moving elegantly by at such a close distance.
The Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary has a new turtle refuge centre for freshwater turtles. This refuge has been created to support the lives of endangered turtle species that are in decline. The types of turtle you can see at the turtle sanctuary include Mississippi Map Turtles, Loggerhead Turtles and Pig-Nosed turtles and many others.
As well as underwater creatures of the deep, Sea Life Scarborough also has other aquatic animals that live on land: penguins, otters and seals. The seals are rescue animals and the rescue centre in the Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary allows visitors to see what it is like to look after a seal, and how they are cared for.
