York Brewery
There is only one brewery located within the city walls of York, the aptly named York Brewery.
York Brewery was established in 1996 and is a working brewery as well as a tourist attraction.
The York Brewery has a large contingent of barrel brew plants, barrel fermenters and conditioning tanks, to brew its different types of beer.
York Brewery has eight different beers: Yorkshire Terrier, Centurions Ghost, Stonewall, Guzzler, Decade, Wild Wheat, York IPA, Black Bess Stout and Yuletide Ale.
The Centurions Ghost beer is an award winning beer having won the BBF gold medal for strong bitter in both 2006 and 2007.
The tourist attraction side of the brewery lets visitors learn about the brewing process, before moving on to the visitors’ centre which includes a bar catering for up to eighty at a time, where people can sample the brewery’s wares.
