Wrexham 1 - 0 York City

(Taylor 59)
Despite York City’s Michael Gash getting an excellent chance in the opening seconds of the game, it was Wrexham’s veteran striker Gareth Taylor whose headed goal got all the points for the home side.
There was action at both ends in the first half, although no goals by the break, but it seems that Wrexham’s introduction of Adrian Cieslewicz on 57 minutes fired the home team up.
Once they had gone behind, York Manager Martin Foyle brought on Smith and Brodie, whose shot almost got the teams level, but eventually Wrexham held out.
Manager Foyle said that he was disappointed not to get any points from the match.
