Oxford United 2 – 1 York City
(Green 88, Creighton 90) (Brodie 33)
Unlucky York lose their first-half lead with only 2 minutes to go, and a goal from United’s debutant defender Michael Creighton.
City’s recent big money signing Michael Gash started on the bench, replacing Michael Rankine on 69 minutes.
In all, six of the starting eleven were from this summer’s signings.
Minstermen manager Martin Foyle told the BBC: “I thought we were excellent… There wasn’t a player out there who was below par and I’m absolutely devasted for them.”
